![]() 1. A large pinch pot is shaped by hand and several coils of clay are added and blended into the pot. |
![]() 2. The bottom of the head is pressed out from the inside of the pot and several more layers of coils are added. |
![]() 3. Eyes are carved into the piece and a nose line is scored. The pot is left to firm overnight. |
![]() 4. Ears are shaped and fixed into position and a mane slab is rolled out and added. |

![]() 6. Intricate stripe patterns are scored on to the vessel. Pot is now left to dry out very slowly for several weeks. |
![]() 7. After a bisque firing up to 1000 degrees in an electric kiln, the zebra is painted in stoneware glazes and stains. |
![]() 8. The zebra is finally fired to 1260 degrees.Each piece can take about 3 - 4 weeks to complete. |
