1. A large pinch pot is shaped by hand and several coils of clay are added and blended into the pot.
2. The bottom of the head is pressed out from the inside of the pot and several more layers of coils are added.
3. Eyes are carved into the piece and a nose line is scored. The pot is left to firm overnight. 4. Ears are shaped and fixed into position and a mane slab is rolled out and added

6. Intricate stripe patterns are scored on to the vessel. Pot is now left to dry out very slowly for several weeks. 7. After a bisque firing up to 1000 degrees in an electric kiln, the zebra is painted in stoneware glazes and stains. 8. The zebra is finally fired to 1260 degrees.Each piece can take about 3 - 4 weeks to complete.
