Spring Craft Show 2007

We have been exhibiting our work at a number of craft shows this Spring. Easter found us at Blickling Hall in a sunny Norfolk with the Eastern Events Craft Team.  John and Brian from Eastern Events put on some beautifully organized shows at National Trust Properties.  In May we exhibited with them again at Calke Abbey in Derbyshire and featured lots of our new plaque designs. The bats, bees, butterflies and dodos proved to be really popular.

Later in May we exhibited at Hatfield House at the Living Crafts Show, which in spite of persistent rain throughout the four days, was a successful show. This is a great family day out and one of the few shows we get to exhibit with Maggie's husband Tom Betley from Rusticraft Garden Furniture. You get lots of demonstrations, peacocks, maypole and morris dancing, men walking about with owls, (some of them were real) and Mark Speight from Smart.

Outside in - An Exhibition of Sculptural ceramics by Michel Ducos
Alford studio   Ceramic Satchel   Ceramic Guitar
On 1st April Maggie and I were invited to a private viewing of "Outside In," an exhibition of the latest work by Alford potters Michel and Heather Ducos.
It is always pleasant to catch up with our potter friends and enjoy the fruits and labours of their hard work.

Mark Speight
We were so saddened to hear about the death of Mark Speight less than a year later.   He was a lovely, friendly, genuine guy and excellent with the children and all the adult fans who met him at the Hatfield Show.  RIP
